Safety Tips for River Rafting in Rishikesh
River Rafting Safety – What You Need to Know
River rafting on the Ganges is one of the safest adventure activities when done with certified operators following proper safety protocols.
Before You Get on the Water
Always disclose medical conditions to your guide. Heart conditions, back problems, pregnancy, and recent surgeries may affect your eligibility. Listen carefully to the safety briefing.
Essential Equipment
Never get in a raft without a properly fitted life jacket (PFD) and safety helmet. These are non-negotiable for all rafters regardless of swimming ability.
In-Water Safety
If you fall out of the raft, stay calm. Roll onto your back with your feet facing downstream. Do not try to stand in fast-moving water as feet can get trapped in rocks.
